Delicate Still Life

Petals and thorns, how delightful it is, reminiscing on that shoot. When Jane of Floralchemy contacted me to shoot I was over the moon! I met Jane during a workshop to Bromo mountain-I was an attendee, one of the students, and she was the talented florist of the shoots on that project.

Prior to the shoot I had learnt the term ‘floral-jamming’ from Jane. Which is exactly what they did on the day, and it was wonderful to witness. Surrounded by variations of flora that are foreign to me, some are almost alien with their charm.

I was lucky enough to be present amongst the floral styling of Floralchemy, Araluen Flowers and Her Maid of Honor. Graced our shoot, Bramanta Wijaya provided the divine dresses on the day. Truly gorgeous group of talents I have had the pleasure to work alongside with! Jasmine was our youthful muse during the day, whose beauty was enhanced by Yongky Lay, our esteemed makeup artist!

I truly hope you enjoy these as much as I do!

Blooming Taiwan Elopement

Taiwan_elopement_prewedding (3).JPG

This post is dedicated for Stacy and Nikolaos, two of my treasured friends, however since this is my first ever blog post: Let’s back it up a bit.

This is a story how I became a professional thirdwheel. It begins in school, way before I met these two lovely souls. I just happened to be consistently surrounded by couples since Year 7 (junior high what have you). Recalling back, it was the beginning of the booming of ‘handphones’ and ‘Blackberries’. Add that to the budding romance of teenagers; and archive of relationships became a staple to my generation growing up. I helped them in the instances when they needed human tripods. I grew comfortable around displays of affection (to some extent), and documenting couples becomes super fun for me. Fast forward to now I thirdwheel for a living and boy it has been a fun ride.

Returning the topic to Stacy and Nikolaos: we shared a flat back when we were studying together in London and they both started dating shortly after we all graduated (I’d like to think that I contributed in the matchmaking of these two cough). I returned to Indonesia, and about two years after I left they decided to get married and that is where I come back into the picture (pun intended).

They made it paper official in Greece, where Nikolaos originated from, and they flew me over to Taiwan, which is Stacy’s home and do the shoot there. I was mesmerised by the beauty of what surrounded me in Taiwan, not because I did not expect it to be beautiful but mainly I did not expect we will catch the blossoms in time.

They dressed impeccably for the Taiwanese styled shoot in celebratory red colour scheme, the shoot resumed over at the preserved old town in Taipei.

To conclude this long overdue tribute I would like to thank Stacy and Nikolaos who trusted me to document this elopement session and I hope that you adore these memories as much as I do.
